Stage 2 Performance package for the 2011 5.0L Mustang consists of C&L CAI and Custom SCT X3 Tuner with Custom Calibrations developed here at Stang-Hi Performance.

For 2011, both the GT and V6 Mustang models are receiving ALL NEW engine packages. This means that aftermarket air intake upgrades designed for previous Mustang models will not work, and completely new aftermarket upgrades will be necessary. As with so many other previous applications, we have been working hard to be among the first to release a complete high performance air intake upgrade assembly for these vehicles.

From our testing, we have found that the factory air intake assembly for the 2011 GT (with the new "5.0" 4-valve engine) flows 748.7 CFM, which is a REDUCTION in airflow of approximately 50 CFM versus the factory 2010 GT air intake assembly, which flowed right at 800 CFM. This difference is due to the fact that the new vehicle now features a single round throttle body that is placed lower in the engine compartment. The new inlet tube is both smaller and has a different airflow path, which makes it more restrictive than the one that was used on the 2010 GT models.

The V6 model now features a much more powerful 3.7L engine, which produces just over 300 HP -comparable in peak HP to the "old" V8 engine used in the 2005-2010 model GT vehicles. The factory air intake assembly for this vehicle retains the same "cold/fresh air" feature as the GT, but due to the fact that it has a throttle body that is ½" smaller in diameter than the new GT (along with a different air inlet tube and air box assembly), its flow capacity comes in at 685 CFM. For comparison purposes, the factory 2005-2009 GT air intake assembly flowed 550 CFM.

In No-Tune configuration, our 2011 Mustang GT Air Intake System flows an outstanding 45% more than the factory air intake assembly.
